Descriptor systems: A general framework for simulation and control of complex multiphsics systems

We discuss a general mathematical framework for the simulation and control of coupled systems consisting of different components (multiphysicssystems). This framework allows to combine the time integrationand control techniques like feedback control in one concept. As applications we discuss the control of semidiscretized (in space) flow, and population balance equations.
